Details

Educational Qualifications

Qualified in 10+2 examination with Mathematics and Physics, and at least one of the following: Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science from a recognised board.

Age Limit

Candidates for SSR must be between 17 to 20 years on the day of enrolment.

Nationality

Unmarried male Indian citizens, and subjects of Nepal and Bhutan.

Examination Pattern & Procedure

The Navy AA and SSR examinations are conducted in three stages:

  1. Online Written Test
  2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  3. Medical Test

Written Test Details

  • Question Paper Structure:
    • Divided into four parts: English, Mathematics, Science, and General Awareness.
    • Standard set at the 10+2 level.
    • Duration: 1 hour (60 minutes).

Important Notes:

    • The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English).
    • No negative marking is applicable (subject to updates).

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

The PFT consists of:

  • A 1.6 km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
  • 20 squat-ups (Uthak Baithak).
  • 10 push-ups.

Qualifying in the PFT is mandatory for selection.

Medical Examination

Conducted by authorised military doctors, the medical examination includes:

  • Minimum Height: 157 cm.
  • Weight & Chest: Must be proportionate, with a minimum chest expansion of 5 cm.
  • Initial Medical Examination: Considered provisionally fit, subject to the final examination at INS Chilka.

Final Medical Examination: Candidates found unfit will not be enrolled for training, and no appeals are permitted after the final examination.
